Um dos primeiros livros sobre telefone celular que li foi:
Heidegger, habermas and the mobile phone de George Myerson

George Myerson usa as teorias de Martin Heidegger (Being and time, 1973) e Jürgen Habermas (The theory of communicative action, 1984) sobre comunicação e tecnologia para ilustrar o uso do telefone celular no século XXI. O autor comenta que com a telefonia móvel estamos indo do “conversar” para “comunicar”. Mostra, ilustrando com slogans e press release de grandes marcas da telefonia móvel, que o importante não é mais somente conversar como era com o telefone fixo, agora o importante é comunicar. O celular passou a ser muito mais que um telefone sem fio, é um meio de comunicação potente em que se pode acessar a Internet, escutar música, ver televisão, gravar áudio, vídeo e fotos...
Vale a penar ler o “pequeno” livro.

Locative Media Summer Conference

“This summer conference will attempt to give an overview of actual research on this topic, especially focusing on how Locative Media tackle social and political contexts of production by focusing on social networking, access and participatory media content including story-telling and spatial annotation. Participants from all relevant disciplines are invited, especially researchers in social science, IT design, urban, media and cultural studies. Project demonstrations are warmly encouraged, but the main objective is to move beyond presentation and to build conceptual and theoretical links and exchanges between disciplines. This kind of conference is meant a forum for the presentation of papers, further discussion, collective reading work and as a preliminary step for the publication of an edited volume in 2008.”

Depois de um tempo parado, o site co-network volta a atividade. Agora com uma bolsa de pesquisa da Fapesb, sigo investigando os meios digitais. Nesta nova fase da pesquisa dou ênfase para as tecnologias sem fio, conceitos de mobilidade e mapeamento.
Estarei atualizando o site umas duas ou três vezes por semana, colocando projetos, textos, notícias, idéias, eventos e dicas de livros relativos ao tema.
